DriveClub – Serverprobleme konnte man nicht Planen

Shawn Layden von SCEA versuchte derzeit in einem Interview mit IGN Schadenbegrenzung zu betreiben und zu rechtfertigen, wieso DriveClub zum Launch mit so vielen Problemen zu kämpfen hätte. In dem Interview sagte er:

[quote] “In the development cycle, we try to do all things. In the development cycle, we try to test against every possibility. We have a [Quality Assurance] team, we have a QA plan. You do a beta test, you scope against that. But now, in a connected world, you can’t effectively test in your house or in your beta group what it means to have 50,000, 100,000, 200,000 users hit your service. And the guys [at the studio] are struggling with that. It’s throwing up things they had not anticipated.”[/quote]

Zusammengefasst bedeutet dies, dass man nicht ahnen konnte, welche Last 50.000, gar 100.000 oder 200.000 User auf die Server bringen werden und dass die Server-Strucktur plötzlich so zusammenbricht.

Nicht ahnen? Hört sich sehr komisch an, da man bei einem entsprechenden Exklusiv-Titel doch irgendwie damit rechnen muss, dass nicht nur 1000 Leute auf die Server möchten?!

Sei es drum, das Thema ist eh durch. Eine Entschuldigung gibt es auch in Form von kostenlosen Inhalten. Dennoch warten PS Plus Besitzer nach wie vor auf die Freigabe der PS Plus Version. Wann das soweit sein wird ist weiterhin unklar…
